Indigenous Foods Workshop

The Indigenous Foods Workshop was a project in collaboration with, a Creating with Community hosted by Dr. Joshua Schwab-Cartas.

Participants joined Josh in prepping and cooking tamales, a traditional food in his Zapotec culture. We spent the evening preparing and sharing fiddleheads, pico de gallo, and sorrel juice.

Joshua Schwab-Cartas is a Zapotec scholar whose ongoing research projects focus on language revitalization and community-led capacity building in collaboration with Indigenous communities.

Creating with Community is a Treaty Space Gallery initiative funded by Indigenous Youth Roots.
